– October 1897), Swedish engineer, physicist, aeronaut and
polar explorer who perished during a failed attempt to reach the
Geographic North Pole by hydrogen balloon. This is an advertising
postcard of the Plon Publishing Co. for the publication of
Andrée's memoirs found 33 years after his death.
